What is McDonough’s? A neighborhood bar, sure, but it’s so much more than that. McDonough’s Lounge is not only an integral part of Savannah’s nightlife, it’s also an integral part of Savannah’s political scene as well as the subject of local lore. Many a good night has started, or ended, or both, at McDonough’s.
McDonough’s is the headquarters for the St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Savannah every year. McDonough’s is situated near, but not on, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade route. This prime location makes it a popular stop for locals and visitors in the know to grab a to-go drink before stepping back out to enjoy the festivities. Both local and visiting firefighters and first responders consider McDonough’s the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day.
McDonough’s is also considered THE place to go for karaoke in Downtown Savannah. While karaoke is not exclusive to McDonough’s, McDonough’s has a large and loyal following of fans devoted to its karaoke experience.
No matter what the season, it’s easy to grab a seat in front of one of the 32 TVs and our giant projection screen and settle in with a drink, your favorite game day food and enjoy the game.
